Founder’s Bio – Marcia Yolanda Ford
Marcia Yolanda Ford was born in sunny Jamaica where she enjoyed a relatively happy childhood. However, she was raised without the love and acceptance of her father which left a void in her life.
She was sent to Canada, by her mother, to complete her high school education. Within a short period of being in Canada, she discovered she was pregnant. Ashamed of letting herself and her mother down, she married and settled into the roles of wife and mother. However, with each passing year and her growing family, she realized that she was not happy. She felt that there was more to life than what she was experiencing. This lack of fulfillment led Marcia to undertake a long and difficult journey of self-discovery. Through this process, she uncovered the many and varied talents with which she has been blessed.
Marcia is not only a creative force of nature but also a serial entrepreneur who is intent on using up all her gifts before her days are done. Her first business saw her collecting scrap metals from building sites and reselling it to scrap metal dealers. Next up, was her home cleaning business which she successfully ran for five (5) years before launching Marcia’s Cakes, a business that supplied cakes for special events.
Today, Marcia is an accomplished business woman, serial entrepreneur, minister, coach, public speaker, author, philanthropist and playwright. In 2015, Marcia wrote, produced and directed the successful comedic stage play, House of Madness which bears the memorable logline, “Living under the same roof but not by the same rules.” The play had a 2-year run at the Jamaican Canadian Association and a number of other locations in and around Toronto.
Marcia’s greatest achievement is her role as mother to her five (5) beautiful children who are all pursuing theirdreams with the support her unwavering support. The Sueyensue Group is her legacy that will be carried on by her children.
